Failure is a scary word, regardless of how old you are or how many times it has happened in the past. Like many other things, failure also has a relative scale of severity and intensity, depending on the stakes at hand and desired outcomes. For many people, setting a New Year’s resolution is a low-risk, low-intensity type of activity. Failure to fulfill your resolution doesn’t mean that you will be out of a job, or without shelter, or without your basic needs being met. Therefore, people tend to view resolutions in an overall light of lesser importance. For many, that attitude is sufficient, but it also means that resolutions are more likely to fail because they hold little significant value. However, like many other things, a proper perspective and value must be placed on resolutions for them to be impactful and successful.
