PRPAt Shioma Wellness M.D., we are highly experienced in cosmetic and minimally-invasive procedures. We practice and live by functional medicine, and optimize aesthetics as part of our methodology. Dr. Phyllis Okereke has worked in aesthetic medicine since 2000, and has focused on functional medicine since 2006. Her patients enjoy the best of both worlds. Her treatments provide good results, or she would not offer them. One of the state-of-the-art procedures offered here is the Priapus Shot for men (the same technology used for the O-shot in women).

The P-Shot for men is truly revolutionary. It uses growth factors derived from your own blood to rejuvenate the penile tissue, and stimulate enhancement. It has helped thousands of men already to improve their sex life and bring increased sexual pleasure. It has also given so many a psychological boost. This affordable procedure leads to more satisfying sex, and this is confirmed time and time again by those who have utilized the therapy. Men report better erections and increased sensation.

Best of all, it is less traumatic than other penile injections which are needed several times a week. P-shot is a procedure that uses the body’s natural healing process. The procedure is minimally invasive. The patient receives an injection that consists of platelet rich plasma, collected from the patient’s own blood. This is called platelet rich plasma therapy, or PRP. Because it comes from you, there is no chance for an allergic reaction or rejection. PRP rejuvenates by helping the tissue heal from damage resulting from various causes. This repair in many cases is associated with an increase in size. The effects are relatively long lasting, with most patients not returning for six months or longer, even up to 18 months!

Men with erectile dysfunction will be very happy with the P-shot. Dr. Okereke shares one case where a patient had prostate cancer and had lost his erection ability. He tried the Priapus shot and experienced significant improvement. Patients refer other men to us, so we know that they are happy with their experience.

The way this procedure works is the same as when you have an injury. If you severely sprain or tear muscle or tissue or have a cut, blood rushes to the site to begin the healing process. The platelets, one of the clear particles in the blood that are packed full of growth factors, release these growth factors at the site of injury. The growth factors stimulate immature dormant cells called stem cells and these start to mature into new healthy adult cells in the injured area. This is what happens when we inject you with your own platelet rich plasma. New healthy cell growth is stimulated and the area receives cells that are new, healthy and active.

We will draw a small amount of blood. The plasma is then separated in our office by a special centrifuge. After the preparation of the PRP, the procedure takes 30 minutes or less, and there is no downtime. The patient can return to work or normal activities including sex immediately after. A local topical anesthetic is used and there is no significant pain. We understand that you may have questions or concerns about this procedure, and we welcome all inquiries. We will gladly speak to you prior to your coming in for the initial visit. Rest assured that you are in good hands with our greatly skilled team.
