Judging by the ever-increasing number of coffee shops on corners in every town, having a cup of coffee is essential for most people for getting through the day. As it turns out, coffee (and caffeinated tea) could be key components of healthy living. Studies have shown many of the detriments of too much caffeine—ranging from high blood pressure to heart palpitations. But new studies have shown that there is an upside to caffeine consumption as well. Drinking a moderate amount of coffee may actually help you live a longer, healthier life. Coffee drinkers may have less stiffening of the arteries, improved cognitive function, and other health benefits than non-coffee drinkers. If you drink a lot of coffee, then you may want to cut back.
